A three part series that Jim gave following the tragic earthquake in Haiti that killed over 200,000 people.

  1. The earthquake can be understood as an act of God's judgement against sinners.
    • If God is just he must judge our sin. Luke 13:1-5
    • Even God's acts of judgement, are demonstrations of his grace. Because in it we are given the oppurtunity to repent.
    • Does God judge Christians? Because of Christ we will never see the fullness of God's wrath.  We will be judged on our works.  1 Corinthians 3:13-15
    • The earthquake can be understood as the discipline of his children.  Hebrew 12:5:11
  2. The earthquake can be understood as the consequence of living in a sinful, fallen world.
    • Genesis 3:17-19 Romans 8:20 Matthew 5:45
