1st Corinthians 1:18

The bible has many memorials, many remembrances of the attributes of our God. Today we look at four. The cross of Christ reminds of of these things.

I. Reminder of God's Love

Ephesians 2:4-5, 3:19, Romans 8:38-39

II. Reminder of God's Grace

Ephesians 2:8-9, Isaiah 64:6 We were not saved because we deserved it, but because of God's love.

1st Timothy 1:13-15 Paul says that if God can forgive the man who killed his own people, then surely he can save anyone.

III. Reminder of God's forgiveness

Romans 5:8, 1st John 4:9-10

IV. Reminder of Christ's Return

The cross is not just a reminder of death, but of the fact that the one who died now lives and will return on the clouds

Acts 1:9-11 Revelation 1:7, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
