Attributes of a Genuine Disciple

Continued from last week...

  • Recognizes and affirms the true nature of Christ

  • Receives God's provision for salvation

  • Possesses the Spirit that brings life

  • Possesses genuine faith

  • Remains in Christ

  • Has been given by the Father to the Son
  • "no one can come go me me unless it granted by the Father."
John 1, John 3 - one comes to Christ because God wills it. The natural state of man is that we are unaware of our nature before God. God is the one that reveals our true nature to ourselves, and the salvation and nature of
Christ. This should be a sign of comfort and joy, because is is the all loving power of God that draws us. The doctrine of election is a hard topic. So how do we know that we are one of the elect? Because of how we live, that the fruit of our lives are found in the strength of Christ. We should have a sense of God comfort and assurance of faith. We ought to have JOY! We ought to praise God realizing all that he has done for us. We ought to live in faithfulness to Him. It ought to leads us to be an evangelistic people. All that has been done for us makes us want to tell that good news. To proclaim the greatness of God, the goodness and gift of his Son to us, that we can abide in Him.
