Glenn Burns - Genesis 1 / John 1

In the beginning, God is speaking. Yet, he is not just speaking to speak. He speaks life.
Aside: As the church, remember we only have to two jobs. The first is to share the gospel throughout all the earth, and make disciples of Jesus. The other is for us to grow in Jesus ourselves, that we may not fall away. We preach that the world may hear and understand. Whether in church or out of it.
**Genesis 1**
We must ask why did God take six days? He could have done it instantly, but instead he took six days.
*Glenn shares some of his testimony. When he was lost in the world, he met a man who was losing his job because he was a Christian, and yet he had peace. And Glenn the consultant assigned to get him out was empty. Wow. Powerful stuff, brother. I can't rearticulate it all correctly. That testimony is God's through you alone.*
At the end of this process of God changing him he discovered a great truth. During the most trying of moments, when he was most anxious, he suddenly realized that he had peace. Though he was full of pain, he had peace. It was God, and he knew it. Because God has been with him in the darkness, he knows that he is real. After that, you cannot convince him that God is not real.
And God used him to bring the gospel to thousands, not in an arena, but one on one. You don't have to be brilliant, just obedience.
**John 1**
"In the beginning, the Word…"
Aside: A truth about men. When we are told to leave or change, we don't like to leave sad, we would rather leave mad. Nice…
So here we are, God has been leading Glenn around, and brought him here, to this property. God gave him a burden and a vision that God was going do something here. And what do you know… God begins working.
*Again, I can't rearticulate all of this. If you want to hear the story in full, you should just ask Glenn or one of our leaders.*
God has moved. God in moving. What a great God we have! Amen.
>"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. Ecc 3:1-8"
