Our church will be praying over the next forty days specifically for our city. Tonight we look at Psalm 85 on this theme.

God had shown the people some type of judgement. Now aware of their sinfulness, his wrath had been withdrawn. "Revive us that your people may rejoice in you!"

They are powerless to make this happen. God will not move on the basis of man. For this reason revival is always act of God's grace.

Acts 4 - The results of revival was that the God poured out his spirit on them and the people of God began to speak boldly of the glories of God.

V. 25-26 quotes Psalm 2 - they prayed in accordance to scripture. That we would have greater boldness for his name.
