Scripture: Hosea 14:1-9
This is the final chapter. To here the loving and compassionate God to pursue his adulterous wife and plead for her return.
- God exposes our spiritual need.
- All if our iniquity is what causes us to stumble. as lo as we are satisfied in staying on our state of neediness . God's Spirit reveals to our state. Without the acknowledgement of our need, we remain lost.
- No matter how far we have wandered, God is still there. If we claim we have a new relationship with God, then we also will have a new relationship with sin. Confessing our sins to God is not the same thing as the crime show confession. We are not informing God of anything that the doesn't know. we are agreeing with what is already known. W We much seek his mercy as well. we plead to God that he will remove our sin, remove the desires that lead us to sin. as long as we seek to hold our iniquity in hand then when God gives us will seem bad top us. God cleanses us and kills our old desires. he gives us a new heart that will reject our idols, and will seek God's good pleasure as our one and only desire. this is our constant prayer, from day until night. The beauty of repentance is that is brings a out restoration.
- God promises restoration (14:4-7)
- He will shows us his love.
- He will turn his anger away from us. We are saved from his destruction.
- God appeals to us to act with wisdom. (14:8-9)
